There are many ways Texotica can bring depth and detail to your project. One way to bring displays to life is with cast ridged foam. Unlike Styrofoam that must be sculpted, casting foams have very little waste are stronger and multiple copies can be made in a fraction of the time. I have replicated many designs and patterns in ridged and semi-ridged foam used for many applications. The bull skull replicated on the cover page is one good example. After prepping a real skull and making a urethane rubber mold Texotica cast many copies from that one mold into a variety of different mediums such as ridged foam and even concrete. Ridged foams expand to as much as sixteen times their original volume, they are durable and inexpensive ways to bring life and longevity to your Props or display. Ridged and semi-ridged foams can be cast with incredible detail, they can be painted or a hard plastic shell can be added for extra durability. Molds and for that matter the castings can be stored and used over and over reducing the costs each time they are reused. Please contact Texotica Designs for your next project and see how far your ideas can really go.
Plastics and fiberglass resin
Texotica Designs plastic resin and/or fiberglass castings are strong, lightweight and highly versatile. Using cast thermo-plastics Texotica Designs quickly creates permanent patterns for woodcarving laths and reduction machines. It doesn't stop there, plastic resins can be cast for special effects, rubber stamp patterns, proto-types, figurines, displays and an endless variety of other applications. Sculpted details can easily be transferred from the original to a differing design or materials. Flat detail can be cast into semi-ridged plastics then shaped to match curves and angels. With additives plastics can be colored giving a wide range of finishes.
Sculptors Art Dealers and Collectors
Sculptors often have their work replicated. Texotica Designs is a custom mold manufacturer able to produce better quality molds at lower costs than foundries’ where a lot of the cost is making rubber molds for lost wax. If you have ever had to or wanted to reproduce a sculpture in another medium from a foundry mold it can be a daunting task to say the least, this is not because foundries don‘t know how to make a mold, it is because their molds are for one purpose, making wax copies. Lost wax is easily “chased” Texotica Designs can make molds that will allow a wide range of cast materials to be used over and over with little or no after working of seams or imperfections.
